HISTORY:
The HPLC Users Group was created in 1992 by Dr. Ed Desmond. He brought together parties from the corporate and scientific communities who were interested in the use of HPLC for the identification of mycobacteria to discuss hardware problems and solutions, reagent problems, maintenance issues and to share chromatograms and extracts of unusual isolates. At this meeting, Linda Guthertz was named chairperson for the group and Gary Cage was named newsletter editor.

STEERING COMMITTEE:
The HPLC Users Group Steering Committee was formed in 1994 to standardize the working procedures for the HPLC Mycolic Acid Application. This committee has been actively working on this project and the Standardized Method for HPLC Identification of Mycobacteria is now available as a PDF file. An addition to the manual has also been published. This addition has an extensive collection of patterns of Mycobacterium species and can be downloaded/viewed as a PDF file.  Adobe acrobat reader is needed and mirror site of the downloads can be found under the download section.

A list of current committee members can be found here.
